Tap into Emotions to Make the Sale Part 2 - Greed

Emotions - Greed

In the first of my series on using primal emotions to increase your response I’m focusing on greed.
 
Not only is it a primal emotion it’s also one of the seven deadly sins.
 
Looking for examples I remember the direct marketing classic ‘The Lazy Man’s Way to Riches’.  This is a great example as it also featured a second deadly sin ‘sloth’.
 
You will also know that the word FREE is one of the strongest words you can use in any promotion.
 
When using ‘Greed’ you also need to make it believable and using specifics in testimonials can make a promotion 13.7* times stronger.
 
I made an extra £1,732.72 in my first ten days.  A. Testimonial, Brighton.
Is much stronger than
I had extra money in my pocket in less than two weeks.  A.N. Other, Hove.
 
So, could you put greed to better use in your promotions or could you rack up the greed in your existing one?
