When we talk to new online clients one of the first things we discuss with them are their landing pages.
We know that a few simple tweaks will show massive returns for the time and money spent and is a good way for us to quickly show our worth to new clients.
While most landing pages are OK others make some horrendous mistakes and in nearly every case we can do something to lift response and boost profits.
While we haven’t the space here to go through all the things we look at I have listed below three of the tweaks we have put in place recently:
1. Cut the link to the client’s main website. They’ve already highlighted they are interested so it’s vital that you capture their contact details before they get side-tracked by something else. Plenty of time to get them on to your main website later.
2. We’ve cut the waffle and got straight to the point by focussing on the benefits that got them to the landing page in the first place.
3. Encouraged constant testing. Because the landing pages tend to be simple, many marketers ignore them when it comes to testing. We’ve seen a simple change of a headline lift response 27% and one graphic change that boosted response by 13%
