Hilite Ltd has ceased trading

It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you that Hilite Ltd ceased trading on May 31st 2018.

We would like to thank all our clients, suppliers and staff for 32 great years but regret that the new GDPR regulations have made it impossible to continue as we would have liked.

Google adwords and Facebook ads

Google Adwords and Facebook ads are the new small ads that used to appear in the press.

I used to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds a year on small display ads in the national press.  So I decided to revisit some of the more successful ones to see if anything from the old days could be taken forward to online media.

This is what I found:-

  1. Strong headlines are essential.
  2. Testing is vital (easier now online than it was in the press).
  3. Speedy response to any reply is a must.


All pretty obvious stuff but I remembered an interesting idea that was given to me by my media agency.  The famous direct marketing guru Claude Hopkins (way back in the 1920/30's) suggested that you should never give people different options to respond.  "Stick to just one" he said "get them to telephone".

Now while it is easier to get people to click a link I feel the telephone only option could work as it will weed out the tyre kickers and give you a better quality prospect.  

As always TEST.
