When I studied marketing all those years ago I was very interested in the value of market research.
When I found direct marketing a few years later I realised that the best research was testing live products where people vote with their credit cards. Market research then seemed a total waste of time and money.
Of course, there are times when it is difficult, or very expensive, to do a live test but, in the main, I have avoided market research.

I used to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds a year on small display ads in the national press. So I decided to revisit some of the more successful ones to see if anything from the old days could be taken forward to online media.

When we talk to new online clients one of the first things we discuss with them are their landing pages.
We know that a few simple tweaks will show massive returns for the time and money spent and is a good way for us to quickly show our worth to new clients.
While most landing pages are OK others make some horrendous mistakes and in nearly every case we can do something to lift response and boost profits.
